Alan Anderson

Alan Anderson (born 08 September, ±1962 (1)) is a professional programmer and amateur Klingonist. Proud member of the Klingon Language Institute since 1995.

He was honoured for his eminence as a Klingonist by being inducted into the order of the Friends of Maltz in 1999, discovering how to talk about jealousy in Klingon.

Klingon name

When Alan chose his klingon name, he thought that verb + -wI' was a reasonable way to find a name. So he took his college nickname of "Hacker One" and tried to render it in Klingon, finding ghunchu'wI', literally "he who clearly programs". When Alan steps "into character" he uses a slightly modified version, Qunchuy. It only sounds like his first name, but has no meaning.(2)
